Anti Scalant For Cooling Water System
Anti Scalant For Cooling Water System
WHY IS ANTISCALANT REQUIRED ?
Scales are deposit from salts and minerals generally found in water and crude oil, formed after concentrated, and the formation of scales is dependent to temperature and pressure. Scales physically can be in form of very small particles or crystals then agglomerate themselves into hard and sticky solids. Scale formed will stick on the water tube and will reduce the tube cross section area, at heat exchangers the scale will reduces the heat transfer rate and cause lots of problem and losses in equipment performance and efficiency.
Scale compounds generally found are CaCO3, BaSO4, CaSO4, SiO2, and other compounds depend on typical mineral contained in feed water at certain places.
To prevent scale, we need antiscalant that can be injected as shot dose (once in a time) or continuous dose. The most effective method is continuous dose follow by analyzing and controlling the antiscalant residual content (value) to meet the standard value as recommended by the chemical manufacturer.
